— Our Private Beach  —

Welcome to Kookoo's Nest.

We are nestled in a tiny private cove of white sand on the very tip of Antulang peninsula, facing the sunset over the sulu sea . Set into a backdrop of wooded slopes and shear cliffs, in an area of outstanding beauty, we consider Kookoo's nest to be an "Eco-lodge" as much as a resort.

We are Jamie and Nikki Ingram , we have owned and operated Kookoo's nest since 2001. Our staff are all from the local village of Antulang, just a short walk away. We have a philosophy of responsible tourism, bringing significant benefit to this isolated community and endeavor to keep the proceeds of Kookoo's nest in the local area. We have built our cottages from Bamboo and Nipa palm, both are sustainable and renewable materials, we aim for minimum impact on the environment through proper waste management and keep our carbon footprint to the very minimum through the use of solar and Geothermal power.

Kookoo's Nest offers recreation and relaxation on a beautiful white sand beach (see panorama below) with stunning sunsets and great food. We have six bamboo beach Cottages in a range of sizes to suit families, couples and single travelers. The cottages are surrounded by a pocket of natural woodland with many species of tropical trees and plants and birds including our towering coconut palms (which in this picture are being pruned to remove the danger of falling coconuts). As a result you may see Kingfishers, Sunbirds, Fantails and many other birds from your cottage balcony.

For recreation, we offer coastal walks, swimming in the clear waters of our private beach and kayaking along the coast, into Tambobo Bay and mangroves. A beautiful coral reef starts just a few meters from the beach, it offers excellent opportunities for snorkeling, and we offer a range of Scuba Diving experiences for beginner to experienced divers, including PADI courses.

Our kitchen is the very heart of Kookoo's nest. We are very proud of the reputation our Restaurant has gained for excellent food from around the world, including familiar comfort foods and an introduction to some Pilipino classics. Nikki has carefully chosen menu items to take advantage of the all that this tropical paradise has to offer and personally selects the best produce from the local producers and markets.

Getting to Kookoo's nest is all part of the adventure, if you need help with Transportation we will be glad to assist you by arranging a pickup from the airport, ferry terminal or your hotel. Just call, SMS text, or email us. We encourage you to take advantage of your visit here to experience the Sights and culture of the Visayan islands. We offer excursions to nearby markets, lakes and waterfalls and will be glad to help you plan your itinerary.

We have two main seasons, the "Amihan" ; (October to May) which brings us the calmest, driest weather, and the "Habagat" monsoon (May to October) which can bring rain and dramatic storms, but also wonderful, cooler days of fresh breezes and sunshine. We are open all year round, but during the Habagat the onshore winds sometime make diving and other water activities more difficult and occasionally impossible.

We can accept cash payment in most major currencies or travelers checks in US dollars. We regret that we cannot accept credit cards at this time.
